PIERCING AFTERCARE

  1. Start caring for the piercing the day you receive it.

  2. Do Not Touch Piercing Area or Moving Jewelry Placed in an Unhealed Piercing.

  3. Do Not Use Hydrogen Peroxide, Alcohol, or Other Soap Containing Triclosan.

  4. Wash Your Hands Thoroughly Prior to Cleaning or Touching your Piercing for Any Reason.

  5. Rinse as Needed During Healing Period Using piercing solution. Avoid Ointment as They Prevent Necessary Air Circulation. Use a piercing solution as recommended twice a day for at least a month.

  6. Healing for piercings is dependent on what type of piercing and how fast you heal.

  7. Keep Piercing Area Dry. Avoid Using Cloth Towels as it can Harbor Bacteria and Snag on Jewelry.

  8. Minimize the Discomfort and Risk by Sleeping with Piercing Side Up During Sleep.

  9. Unless there is a problem with the size, or material of the initial jewelry, leave it in the place for the entire healing period.

  10.  In the event an infection is suspected, quality jewelry or an inert alternative should be left in place to allow for drainage of the infection. If the jewelry is removed, the surface cells can close up, which can seal the infection inside the piercing channel and result in an abscess. Do not remove jewelry unless instructed to by a medical professional
